Metajna, a peaceful town on the island, together with the villages of Zubovici and Kustici - until recent times exclusively an agricultural area with developed livestock breeding - has started to develop its tourism in recent years. Clear blue sea, a sand beach, domestic products and private accommodation, the experience of intact nature - a big source of fresh water, they all make Metajna a nice place for a holiday. METAJNA, a village and harbour in the eastern part of the island of Croatia-Island-Pag_1-9.htm" target="_self">Pag, situated in the cove of the same name, on the Barbat peninsula. Main occupations include farming and fishing. The church of St. Mary was erected in 1487 by Master Nicholas of Sibenik, in the late Gothic style. East of the village, on the top of the peninsula, there are ruins of a Gothic church.

PAG, an island in the north-Dalmatian archipelago, third largest in Kvarner, situated between Kvarneric and the Velebit Channel, with a northwest-southeast extension; area 284,5 sq km; population 7,969 (around 60 km long, between 2 and 10 km wide). The south-western coast of the island is low, and the north-western is steep and high: the Pag Bay (with the large Caska Cove) and Stara Novalja Bay; the southeast of the island features three capes. The climate is Mediterranean. No surface water streams are found on the island; there are springs near Metajna, Croatia-Island-Pag-Novalja_1-9-117.htm" target="_self">Novalja, Croatia-Island-Pag-Povljana_1-9-183.htm" target="_self">Povljane and Croatia-Island-Pag-Pag_1-9-115.htm" target="_self">Pag.
