This unique part of Istria has a number of attractions - beautiful landscapes, remains of the cultural heritage from all ages (tower Citadel), exquisite specialities of Istrian cuisine: "manestra", sausages with cabbage, venison with gnocchi, "fuzi" (kind of pasta), "supa" (crisp bread in red wine, terrano, with olive-oil and pepper) and the famous wines, terrano and malmsey. Zminj and its surroundings offer excellent opportunities for hiking and cycling tours, as well as for country tourism, which started to develop in the neighbouring villages (Paladnjaki, Krculi). Zminj is the traditional host of one of the most popular folk festivities in Istria, the so-called Bartulja (end of August), dedicated to St. Bartholomew, patron of Zminj.

Istria is the biggest peninsula in the Adriatic Sea. The peninsula is located at the head of the Adriatic between the Gulf of Trieste and the Croatia-Kvarner-Bay-_1-2.htm" target="_self">Bay of Kvarner. The region lies mostly in Istria county of western Croatia.
