Cres is basically a city on the bay, it?s town docks come directly into the middle of the city and are filled with boats. There is a car park at the entrance to the city, along with multiple restaurants and a gas station. Upon entering the city through one of the gates there are narrow paths you must walk through, of houses and small stores. When entering the center there is a huge center, with people selling different home made goods, there are also shops and open air restaurants in which people can sit on the edge and watch the boats come in.

The island of Cres is the second largest island in the Adriatic Sea. It is located on the northern side of the Croatia-Kvarner-Bay-_1-2.htm" target="_self">Kvarner bay. Cres beautiful inlets, clear blue sea and fabulous beaches will make your holiday an unforgettable one. At the heart of the island is the city of Cres. In the city of Cres you will see many remains from Roman and Venetian times as well as from the Austrian-Hungarian monarchy. Some of its cultural-historical monuments include churches, patrician palaces, monasteries and ruins which witnessed Cres?s turbulent past. Along with the city of Cres, are the towns Lubenice, Valun, Martinscica, Miholascica, Osor, Ustrine and Vrana. Lubenice, for example, is situated 382m above sea level and overlooks the bay of Kvarner. There is a beautiful beach at the foot of Lubenice which can be reached by foot or by boat. The island of Cres is known for its many phenomenons. One of them is the fresh water lake Vran which is quite large (5km2) and interesting because of its geological and hydrological characteristics. This lake is very clean and preserved and in order to keep it this way, access to or around the lake is prohibited. Another interesting phenomenon and most fascinating of all, is that the island of Cres is the only place in the world where you will find the nesting place of the white-headed vulture.
