Premantura, a village in the extreme south of Istria, 12 km southeast of Croatia-Istria-Pula_1-1-13.htm" target="_self">Pula. Situated in the central elevated part of the Kamenjak peninsula, which terminates in the west with the Croatia-Istria-Medulin_1-1-6.htm" target="_self">Medulin Bay. Some of the coves (Lokva, Debeljak and particularly Portic) can serve as a shelter for boats and smaller vessels when the south-westerly wind blows. The western coast of Kamenjak is protected from the bora, but is very steep; apart from the Polja Cove, there are no -other protected coves. The best sea-spider farms on the Adriatic lie east of Premantura, in the shallows of the rocky coast; they are gathered in spring by means of special platforms and forked fishing tools (grampo). Situated on the local road which connects it with the regional road to Pula.

Istria is the biggest peninsula in the Adriatic Sea.
