Trilj, a town on the southern rim of the Sinjsko Field, on the right bank of the Cetina river, 14 km southeast of Sinj; elevation 325 m. Main occupations are farming, livestock breeding and processing of synthetic masses. Situated on the main road Sinj - Imotski. Trilj developed at the intersection of the ancient Roman roads to Narona and Bosnia. The Roman settlement Tilurium used to rise on the hill called Gardun. The fortification was first mentioned in the 6th century, and its strategic importance made Venice to use it until the end of the 17th century. Borinovac, a late mediaeval graveyard with stelae, is situated on the slope of the hill, on the left bank of the Cetina river.
