The beautiful island of Lopud is situated just north of Dubrovnik, between two other uninhabitated islands; Kolocep and Sipan, and of the three is the most attractive. With a very small population of 220, concentrated in the settlement Lopud, it is the ideal place for a quiet holiday. There are many small churches and monasteries scattered along the island, a total of 36, allowing you to enjoy sightseeing of local cultural monuments if you wish. The cove Sunj, on the opposite side of the island is a wonderful white sandy beach, excellent for families with children. Other visitors might enjoy the mild Mediteranean climate and flora, along with an occasional glass of fine local wine.
