The island Ugljan is situated between Zadar and Dugi Otok island and it have an excellent ferry connection (Zadar - Preko) every hour. In the southern side the island is connected by bridge to island Pasman and it isn?t so isolate as other islands of archipelago.Ugljan is good destination for tourists that means to visit the Kornati by boat or who wants to take an tour and visit other places in the coast (Krka, Murter, Zadar, Sibenik...) during the holiday.Kukljica and tourist village "Zelena Punta" are the "most touristic" place in Ugljan island. There are 4,5 restaurants (the best is "Barba Tome"), the same number of cafe bars, shops, an ballroom inside of "Zelena Punta" village and all necessary for an quiet holiday. Who wants something more "live", Zadar is not too far - on the other side of channel.The beach in Kukljica is mostly rock beach and it is situated near tourist village and Kostanj bay. There are two beaches on the other side of island that people from Kukljica prefer because of their sandy bottom - Sabusa i Jelenica - they are 10-15 minutes of walking far away from Kukljica (Jelenica is nudist beach).As all islands of archipelago, for Ugljan is also recommended to "explore" the island; the road on the island is good and it?s possible to visit other places: Preko, Susica, Muline, Lukoran, Kali. There is always possible to discover some nice motive, beach, or "konoba" with good wine.Daily excursions in Koranti national park are organized from Kukljica with touristic ships (the price is about 150 kuna for a person).
