Situated on the western side of the homonymous island, Lopud has a population of aproximately 220 inhabitants, with a history dating back to ancient times. Many ancient roman, greek and slavic remains can be found on the island. The modern economy is based on tourism, fishing, farming and viticulture, so visitors can enjoy delicious local cuisine and exquisite wines. A beautiful sandy beach can be found on the southeastern side of the island, in the cove Sunj.
