Sveti Filip i Jakov is a coastal town on the Pasman channel, three kilometers northwest of Biograd na Moru, with a population of 1645. Before the Turks took this town, Sveti Filip i Jakov was the port of the Benedictine monastery of Rogovo, whose ruins are preserved in the early Romanesque church Rochus northeast of the town. Todays holiday originated after the retreat of the Turks in the 17th and 18 Century. The St. Michaels Church from the 18th century is actually a converted gothic church. A monumental wooden crucifix from the end of the 14th Century is kept in the church.
